Magnetic Ideals Research Team

Our consultants have bring expertise from working in Students’ Unions, Local Authorities, Charities, NUS and Government research projects. As well as training in research methodology our team can also conduct research on your behalf in your union. We can work with you to develop a research plan, identify the timescales and methodology, analyse the results and plan to use research outcomes to create change. Our consultants can be brought in to run focus groups, interviews, surveys, or to analyse external existing data. Contact us to discuss your needs and we can come up with a package that will suit your union project.

We have packages that cover the analysis and/or collection of data from surveys, interviews or data sets.  These range from £1500 – £25,000 depending on the size and scope of your project.  The projects are tailored and scaled to you needs and your budget.

Having worked extensively with The Student Engagement Partnership on student engagement in quality processes, we offer specialist skills on analysing this within your institution, and on writing annual quality reports.

Facilitating Your Student-Led Research Project

As well as doing some training on how to run a student-led research project we can offer support at every stage of the process. We can directly train the student researchers, provide facilitation as they decide on methodology and support them as they conduct the research. The size of the consultancy package will depend on the number of students you want to involved.

Research Project: Unionising the Future

Never has the relationship between our Students’ Unions and Trade Unions been more important.  With the recent Trade Union bill aiming to remove the potency of the organisation who are there to defend workers rights, and the Green Paper on Higher Education contextualising Students’ Unions in light of this, we can only expect the situation to get worse with regards to the organisation put in place to defend our rights.  Read more about our research project that looks to strengthen and understand relations between Trade and Students’ Unions.

Please email info@magneticideals.org with your contact details so we can arrange to chat with you about your requirements.
