Menopause and Mind – Call for Blog Contributions

Menopause and Mind invite posts for our blog relating to menopause and mental health, or creativity, arts and menopause. We particularly welcome creative responses such as prose, short stories, video, sound, photography or other visual art. This is a very open call, and your blog can be in the form of personal reflections, political engagements, sharing research and even interviews or podcasts on the topic.

We recommend that written pieces are no longer than 800 words. All work published will be under a creative commons license, and all copyright remains with the creator. If you are interested in writing a blog, please submit your idea or completed blog post to climacteric@magneticideals.org; please note we can not guarantee that we can publish everything we receive. If you have an idea we want to discuss, we are more than happy to chat you through it!

We recognise that the mainstream narrative of menopause does not include everyone and discriminates and excludes many marginalised voices, including (not exhaustively) LGBTQIA+, trans voices, minority ethnic voices and neuro and physical diverse groups. We particularly welcome engagement from these groups. We also recognise the negative impact that adverse childhood experiences and trauma have during menopause. Menopause and Mind embrace menodiversity and welcomes any person experiencing menopausal symptoms from any background. We are open to feedback and to improve our sessions, and to ensuring that we are using inclusive language and approaches. We support the aims of the Menopause Inclusion Collective
